Description of the organization

The Bureau International des Containers (B.I.C.) is a non-profit association with a membership that covers almost the entire family of container owners in the world. B.I.C. has organised a world-wide system of allocating and surveying identity to each single container out of a fleet of more than 15 million units in the world. B.I.C. has more than 1800 members, almost all container owners all over the world are member of B.I.C..

BIC is involved in several transport-related national & international projects and activities: B.I.C. is the official registrar office, nominated by the International Organization for Standardization and the Worlds custom organization, in charge of registering and protecting the unity of container owners and operators identification codes worldwide.
