Within the 7th Framework Programme (FP7) the European Commission has commissioned the project IMCOSEC to define a Strategic Roadmap for a big demonstration initiative in supply chain security. The aim was to identify and characterise gaps in cargo transport security and benefits for logistics, showing possibilities and challenges for an improvement of security and efficiency for the supply chain simultaneously.
IMCOSEC has been completed successfully by defining an explicit Roadmap based on in-depth results elaborated during the 12 month project term. The IMCOSEC results and it’s basic vision has been presented at the final public workshop on 24th February 2011 in
IMCOSEC is looking forward to discussing the Strategic Roadmap with further parties. The Strategic Roadmap will set the basis and will be taken on by the European Commission to initiate the big demonstration project. This expected to be published in a Call for Proposals in 2012. We are therefore eagerly and hopefully looking forward to the forthcoming work.
Herby we’d like to thank all parties and persons involved in the project, first and foremost our Partners, the Advisory Board Members and everyone who has contributed to the achieved results.
