Workpackages

The strategic roadmap for an effective, efficient and acceptable improvement of the container

Work package 1: Processes & regulations

The aim is to identify and assess relevant existing processes and regulations within the supply chain. The framework conditions given by the factual and political situation and trends will also be considered.

Work package 2: Security threats for the supply chain

On the basis of WP1 & WP3 security threats along the supply chain will be assessed in order to spot the weak points. This is the basis to identify different risk levels and to classify elements of the supply chain for security improvements.

Work package 3: Projects, initiatives & technologies

The aim is to identify and catalogue state of the art supply chain research and regional, national and international initiatives, which are relevant in terms of security, logistics and information management. In this context supporting technologies will be identified and listed.

Work package 4: Gap analysis to improve the supply chain

A gap analysis will list strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats to merge the results of the previous work packages and analyse the chances to achieve an improved supply chain.

Work package 5: Target processes & supporting technologies

On the basis of the gap analysis target processes will be designed for the optimisation of the supply chain in terms of capacity, efficiency, transparency and security. This will be accompanied by the identification and assessment of suitable technologies and research needs in order to achieve the targeted optimisation of the processes.

    Work package 6: Strategic roadmap

The aim is to integrate the results into a strategic roadmap for the demonstration (phase II) which defines a pragmatic project approach to improve the supply chain and identifies the research needs and necessary activities in order to carry out correspondent demonstrations.

    Work package 7: Project management

The aim is to establish an appropriate information flow between project partners, the Advisory Board, the European Commission (EC) and the public.  This will ensure the fulfilment of the contract in terms of cost-performance-schedule, the quality of deliverables and to support the European awareness of the project progress and results.
